Bottle Drive at the Beer Store at Westgate Plaza.

Returns for Leukemia

Want to hear about an event that helped the environment and raised money for a fabulous cause? The United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 12R24 and The Beer Store joined together to help raise funds to find a cure for Leukemia, the number one disease killer of children in Canada. On May 29th and 30th, folks gathered to donate their empty beer, wine and spirit containers at Beer Stores across Ontario. 100% of the deposit refunds were donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). “The key to a successful drive is the cooperation and kind generosity of our customers and the dedication and spirit of the volunteers, the vast majority of which are employees of The Beer Store, their families and friends,” says Rob Edwards, president of UFCW Local 12R24.
