Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night, an Ancient Midwinter Celebration, was the grand finale of the Christmas in Cambridge festival events. Held at The United Kingdom Club of Cambridge, the attendees reveled in the music, food, and dancing, and were enthralled with the costumes and the variety of entertainment! The evening’s festivities included demonstrations of English morris dancing by Orange Peel Morris and Cambridge Splinters, Oakville Ale and Sword performed Sword dances of Northern England and the Shetlands, very ancient winter ritual dances. Local trio Tethera provided ambient instrumental music to set the mood and Relative Harmony hosted an English Country Dance where many participated and joined in. Father Christmas was in attendance in the role of Master of the Revels as guests came in costume and fancy dress to celebrate the festive season.
